The cottage is in Sleat on the Isle of Skye, commonly known as "The Garden" of Skye. It is right by the shore of Camus Cross Bay beside the picturesque village of Isle Ornsay. This, a crofting village of whitewashed cottages, once was a busy harbour for fishing boats. It has views overlooking a beautiful lighthouse. The local Hotel Eilean Iarmain has good food and a welcoming bar often with live music and Ceilidhs.
The view from Cruard Cottage is stunning looking over to Knoydart and the mainland of Scotland. The ever changing light sequences can be breathtaking - inspirational. Each room of the cottage has clear views to the sea. From the upstairs bedrooms, when the tide is in you almost feel that you are at sea!
The cottage has recently been refurbished to a high standard and is furnished tastefully throughout.
The lounge has a sleek hole-in-the-wall wood burning fire. It is cosy and beautifully furnished.
The Kitchen will be the hub of things with a large beautiful teak dining table capable of seating 8- 10 people. It is fully equipped with a beautiful Rayburn which provides cooking, hot water and heating facilities, a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, various kitchen utensils, a range of kitchen cutlery and crockery, tea towels, place mats, glasses, iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner and cleaning equipment.
The three bedrooms can accommodate five people. It has one one king-size bedroom double bedroom, and one Single room. A mattress is also available for a sixth person (maximum).
All Bedrooms have new comfortable beds, drawer space and Sky TV in all the rooms. Bed linen and towels are provided. The upstairs bedrooms have double velux windows to the rear and a window to the front making the rooms light and airy.
Facilities on offer include Sky TV, broadband and wireless internet connection, local phone calls, DVD Player, CD Player with a selection of CDs and DVDs available to choose from, books and a selection of local tourist information, maps and leaflets. A hairdryer is also available.
There are two bathrooms, one upstairs with shower and one downstairs with bath. Both beautifully decorated.
Outside there is a seating and barbeque area and there are plenty of parking spaces. The garden is extensive and is fenced off allowing dogs or toddlers to roam.
Rent is inclusive of electricity, oil and an initial supply of logs.
The cottage is ideally situated to explore Skye and enjoy a wide range of activities including walking, mountaineering and scrambling, cycling, fishing, kayaking, golf and wildlife watching. Enjoy the amazing scenery of the Cuillin Range, the Quirang, The Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock and the coastal views to Rum, Eigg and the Outer Hebrides.
