DUNVEGAN HOTEL
The nearest pub is the Dunvegan Hotel(9 miles), it does bar snacks and meals and also has a restaurant.

STEIN INN
The Stein Inn (15 miles) is the best and oldest inn in the area. It was built in 1790 and is right beside the loch at Stein on the Waternish perninsular. It has a selection of real ales and does reasonably priced bar meals featuring local seafood such as crab sandwiches and crab and prawn salads.. It is quite cosy and usually has a log fire. There are tables and chairs outside overlooking the loch for when the weather is good.

THE OLD INN
The Old Inn is about 25miles from the cottage at Carbost near the Talisker distillery. There is patio on the loch side with spectacular views of the Cuillin mountains. It does reasonable bar meals.

THE CUILLIN HILLS HOTEL
Situated in Portree (33 miles) the Cuillin Hills is one of the better hotels in Portree. It can be found by taking the Staffin road out of Portree and then turn right to follow the signs. It is good because from the bar and gardens you get the best view of Portree across the harbour to the Cuillin mountains in the background. It does good bar meals and also good meals in the restaurant.

HOTEL EILEAN IARMAN
If you venture to the south end of the island there is the Hotel Eilean Iarman at Isle Ornsay on the Sleat perninsular. It is in a lovely setting, has a good selection on beers and does good bar meals.

RESTAURANTS

CEITAG'S

Situated in the heart of the village this restaurant is the nearest one from the cottage. Open from 11am, teas/coffees, lunches, afternoon teas and evening meals.Local seafood including lobster Lovely atmosphere and good food using local produce.

THE RED ROOF

Well worth a visit. Situated about three quarters of a mile up the Holmisdale road (the road next to the post office). A wide selection of fair trade teas and coffees, marvelous home baking, and very good light lunches to cater for every taste.Friendly staff and vibrant artwork by Elly Knight.

THE THREE CHIMNEYS
Situated at Colbost (5 miles from the cottage) the famous Three Chimneys is reputed to be the second best restaurant in Scotland. It has a good menu of local seafood and game, the best of Scottish meats and delicious puddings. It is an award winning restaurant and priced accordingly.

THE OLD SCHOOL RESTAURANT
This the best place to eat in Dunvegan. A varied menu of good food, a welcoming atmosphere and there is usually a roaring open fire.

WATERSIDE BISTRO  Beside the filling station in Dunvegan. Good, hearty food in pleasant surroundings with a patio area.

LOCH BAY SEAFOOD RESTAURANT
In Stein village this restaurant specialises in seafood. Pleasant situation and good food at a price.

GRESHORNISH HOUSE HOTEL
Turn left off the main road just before reaching Edinbane and you will find the Greshornish House Hotel. It is worth the detour, the hotel is surrounded by lovely grounds and the food is excellent.

ULLINISH LODGE HOTEL

This hotel has a good reputation for locally sourced seafood as well as a varied menu including Scottish meats. It has won many awards for its food and is highly recommended.
