GolfThis page is currently under construction. Durness Golf Club offers a challenging 9-hole course which is the most north-westerly golf course on the mainland. With a cunningly-positioned second set of tees on the back 9, the course designers have achieved the effect of an 18-hole course on a compact site. It has been featured by Peter Alliss in 'Travels with Alliss' and is also included in the book 'Scotland's Gems' by Malcolm Campbell. The course record is 69 and has stayed that way for some time, partly due to the tricky 9th/18th, which requires your tee shot to clear a stretch of the Atlantic Ocean when the tide is in. The course is open to visitors all year round, except for Sunday mornings and open days. Best to check with the club secretary if you are unsure. | ![]() |
